South Kingstown man indicted on federal cocaine trafficking charge
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A South Kingstown man has been indicted on cocaine trafficking charges and will face arraignment on Thursday, according to the office of Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.
Hector Villa, 40, was indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of distribution of 500 grams or more of cocaine on Wednesday.
According to charging documents, Villa delivered three kilograms of cocaine to an individual on June 3 while the transaction was monitored by members of the Rhode Island DEA Drug Task Force.
He was arrested shortly after the delivery and the narcotics were seized as evidence.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant on Villa’s suspected drug stash house in North Providence and seized a kilogram of cocaine, a firearm and various items used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics, according to documents.
