South Kingstown Police make 3 DUI arrests

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The South Kingstown Police Department said that it made three DUI arrests for alleged “dangerous driving behaviors” on Dec. 5.

62-year-old Catherine Burgess was charged with DUI of liquor and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Burgess allegedly struck a curb and failed field sobriety tests.

58-year-old Dorothy Manning was charged with DUI of liquor and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Police alleged that she was driving without her lights active and showed “clear signs of impairment,” including bloodshot eyes, mumbled speech, poor balance, and a strong odor of alcohol.

60-year-old Michael Garofano was charged with DUI of liquor and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Garofano was alleged to have repeatedly crossed the double yellow line and then failed a series of field sobriety tests.
