SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — South Kingstown residents are now able to ship their packages directly to the South Kingstown Police Department to prevent theft this holiday season.

To have your packages shipped to the police department, officials said when making an online purchase, use the following address: Your name, c/o South Kingstown Police Department, 1790 Kingstown Rd, South Kingstown, RI 02879, attn: Ship to Station.

After placing an order with the station’s address, forward your confirmation email or send an email to shiptostation@southkingstownri.gov to let the station know to expect your package.

When you go to pick up your package from the station, you should bring a photo ID, a copy of the email or delivery confirmation. The name on the ID must match the name on the package.

Officials said those who utilize the service should not use it for packages that require a signature, as they will not be accepted.
