Southern New England thunderstorms howl overnight, leave a big mess in the morning

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — We’re getting a look at the mess those severe thunderstorms left all over southern New England.
There were widespread power outages, and even changes to some 4th of July fireworks.
It also proved dangerous to those on the roads.
A driver found themselves stuck in a flooded out road in Wareham.
You can see where the driver had to bail out, as others made the wise decision to turn around.
Take a look at this scene in Bristol, where Wood Street was shut down after a tree toppled over onto a few parked cars.
Crews were called in to clear both the tree and some downed power lines.
We’ve reached out to Bristol police to learn whether anyone was hurt.
