Special Olympics RI officially hosts send-off for athletes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Special Olympics Rhode Island officially hosted a send-off for their Olympians yesterday.

The games will officially begin on May 31 at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston.

Supporters and law enforcement from all over the state joined in sending off the trailer that carries all the game equipment to the university.

Those in attendance of the send-off got to get up close and personal with first responders’ trucks and bikes.
