RIDOH notifies consumers of Sprout Organics pouch recall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health said Sprout Organics recalled one lot of Sprout Organics Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach pouches due to the possible containment of high levels of lead.
The 3.5-ounce pouches were sold in Walgreens and some independent stores in the south between September and December of 2024.
RIDOH said the product’s Lot Code number is 4212 and will expire on Oct. 29.
According to RIDOH, there have been no reported illnesses and the recall is voluntary.
Anyone who may have purchased this product is advised to return it to the store for a refund.
