Stabbing in Newport leaves one man injured

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) – Police arrested a woman responsible for a alleged stabbing that occurred Wednesday night.

Police responded to a parking lot on Bellevue Avenue for the report of a stabbing just before 11:30 p.m., and arrested Crystal Lynn Cordeiro, 28, of Newport. 

The victim of this stabbing, a 34-year-old local male, was brought to Newport Hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time. 

Cordeiro was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault.

Newport Police say this incident is still under investigation, no additional information is available at this time.
