GLOCESTER, RI –  State and local police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Glocester Monday morning.

Inside the house was a mother, her son Ed, who is believed to be in his 20s, Ed’s girlfriend, and one family friend named Amanda.

The perpetrators reportedly broke into the home through the backyard basement door. Everyone was held at gunpoint and tied up. The mother’s arms duck taped.

Police say the thieves stole jewelry and a car which was later found abandoned in a bar parking lot.

Police say they have no suspects at this time but feel this was not a random acted and the public is not at risk.

Many neighbors describe the area as quiet, remote and safe.
