CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Ethics Commission voted Tuesday to investigate whether the governor’s former Chief of Staff should have disclosed his interest in the Canning St. property.

Tony Silva stepped down from his position as Chief Of Staff after it was revealed he was personally involved in the development of the property.

Prior to stepping down, he also resigned as the Deputy Director of Emergency Management in Cumberland.

Governor Dan McKee called on Attorney General Peter Neronha to conduct an independent investigation into Silva’s connection to the wetlands application filed by Silva last month.
