State Police arrest 4 Providence brothers on drug, firearm charges

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The efforts of a Rhode Island State Police Task Force led to the arrests of four Providence brothers on firearm and drug charges.

Members of the State Police High Intensity Drug Traffickin Area (HIDTA) Task Force executed search warrants at two Providence apartments.

Four men, identified as Luis Miguel Molina, 23, Luis Armando Molina, 21, Luis Enrique Molina, 28, and Luis Alberto Molina, 29, all of Providence, were arrested in connection with criminal narcotic activity.

While executing the warrants, members of the HIDTA Task Force, Violent Fugitive Task Force, Providence DEA, and Providence Police seized around 90 grams of fentanyl, a.380 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, six rounds of .380 caliber ammunition, and packaging materials associated with the distribution of narcotics, as well as $282,061 in United States currency.

All four men face the following charges:

  • Manufacture/Delivery/Possession with the Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a
  • Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
  • Manufacture/Delivery/Possession with the Intent to Manufacture or Deliver one ounce to one kilogram Schedule II (Fentanyl)
  • Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Controlled Substance Violation
  • Possession of a Firearm By a Convicted Felon
  • Controlled Substance Conspiracy

Both Luis Miguel Molina and Luis Alberto Molina were charged with violating the terms of probations stemming from previous convictions for second-degree robbery charges.

Luis Enrique Molina was also charged with violating probation on prior breaking and entering and unlicensed firearm charges.

The suspects were processed at State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and arraigned Tuesday in Sixth Division District Court.

They were ordered held without bail.
