State Police arrest man for DUI after head-on crash

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police said a man was arrested for driving under the influence after driving the wrong and causing a head-on collision on Route 146 in Lincoln.

38-year-old Carlos Gonzalez Carrillo, of Cranston, was charged with DUI.

Around 11 p.m. on March 1 state police received a call that said a car was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Route 146 before hitting another vehicle head-on.

The driver of the other vehicle was a 28-year-old Woonsocket woman who was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Carrillo was arrested and held overnight pending an arraignment Saturday morning.
