State police investigating apparent murder-suicide in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Rehoboth Saturday morning.

Rehoboth police received a call around 11 a.m. requesting a well being check on the female victim of the incident, 77-year-old Barbara Cruz of Tiverton.

The relative requested the check after hearing shouting while on the phone with Cruz, before being hung up on and call backs not going through.

When police arrived at on Summer Street they found two victims who died from gunshot wounds and an uninjured 84-year-old woman.

“A preliminary investigation has revealed that Omar Bradley, 72, who had been residing in the Summer Street home with the uninjured 84-year-old woman, shot and killed the 84-year-old woman’s sister and then shot himself,” the district attorney’s office said.

The sister who was killed was identified as Cruz.

Bradley also had an address listed in Providence.

The incident is still under investigation.
