State Police investigating overnight I-95 crashes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police responded to two crashes on Route 95 Friday night, both in the area of Exit 24 in Providence.

According to State Police the first crash occurred around 3:15 a.m., involving three vehicles.

Two occupants in one of the vehicles involved were seriously injured and transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Two other occupants were not injured.

The second crash, involving two vehicles, was reported several minutes later on the southbound side of the highway, in close proximity to the first crash. Nobody was injured in the second crash.

Both crashes are under investigation by Rhode Island State Police.
