State trooper injured by allegedly drunken driver

EASTON, Mass. (AP) _ A Massachusetts state trooper has been hospitalized after an alleged drunken driver struck a police cruiser from behind while it was stopped at a red light.
State police said in a statement that the trooper was topped at a traffic light on Route 138 north in Easton at about 9 p.m. Monday when the cruiser was rear-ended.
Trooper Robert A. Bohn was taken to Boston Medical Center with neck and back injuries. He was treated and released around 1:00 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the police vehicle was identified as 26-year-old Luke Anderson of Brockton.
He was arrested at the scene and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and operating to endanger.
