State Troopers seize $140,000 worth of marijuana

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) –  State troopers seized 69 pounds of marijuana from a New York resident during a traffic stop on Interstate 95.

Police say Liyin Zhou, 36, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 95 North near Weaver Hill Road.

The street value of the marijuana is worth $140,000. The drugs were packed in 69 vacuum-sealed bags each filled with one pound of marijuana. Troopers also confiscated $1,222 in cash.

Zhou is facing several drug charges including possession of more than 5 Kilos of Marijuana. He was held overnight, and was arraigned in Third Division District Court Wednesday morning.
