Still waiting on disaster assistance? The SBA may need more info

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence City Council met today with talks on getting U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) loans for those impacted by the Washington Bridge closure.
A representative from the SBA says anyone who has applied for disaster assistance loans and not heard back may need to submit more information to process the application.
“We want to encourage people to check their portal to check the status of their application,” said Public Affairs Specialist Julie Garrett.
Garrett says, sometimes, applications can be withdrawn from the portal due to incomplete information.
“It’s very easy to apply for re-acceptance,” Garrett said. “You just supply your information [in the portal], and your application will continue through the process.”
Businesses impacted by both the Washington Bridge closure and September storms are eligible to apply for SBA loans.
If anyone wishes to resubmit their application for a disaster assistance loan, they can do so at sba.gov.
