Stormtracker Alert for Friday as our next storm moves in
Think of Thursday as the (literal) calm before the storm. It’ll be a comfortable, mostly to partly sunny afternoon with highs in the upper 40s. A few spots will likely reach 50 degrees as well! Enjoy the mild air, as things become more turbulent as our storm arrives overnight.
Showers begin not long after midnight. They’ll continue on and off into the morning commute. Winds will start to pick up during the morning commute as well. However, the heaviest rain and gustiest winds look like they’ll come into play in the late morning/early afternoon. Wind gusts during this time could be in the 30s, 40s and even 50s. For this reason, we have a Wind Advisory from 4 AM Friday – 1 AM Saturday. We also have a High Wind Warning for the Cape & Islands. Highs will be in the mid 50s.
The the storm departs, cooler air comes in quite quickly. This may result in an early evening light mix with any leftover moisture. More so, it’ll bring overnight lows into the mid 20s by Saturday morning.
The good news is, while Saturday is a much cooler day with highs around 40 degrees, it’ll also be mostly sunny and much less windy by the afternoon.
Sunday is more mild with highs in the mid 40s. However, a weak disturbance will bring some cloud cover as well as wind gusts in the 20s.
