Stormy Sunday Night

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for Southern New England now through 9 pm tonight. Severe weather is possible with a front crossing through the area. Our main threat is damaging winds, small hail, frequent lightning, and downpours. The front is moving pretty quickly, so after 9 pm, we will begin the clearing process. Overnight lows will be near 65. Sunshine will fill the day Monday and with the help of a northwesterly inflow, we will be cooler with highs near 80 and oh so comfortable in terms of humidity. Tuesday is looking to be the coolest and driest of the week with low humidity, tons of sunshine and highs near 78. Wednesday will be a nice one too with mostly sunny skies and warmer highs in the lower-80s. The muggies roll back in for Thursday. Look for mostly sunny skies and highs near 88. Friday will be the scorcher of the week with mostly sunny skies, oppressive humidity and highs in the lower-90s. Of course, it will feel even hotter with the heat and high humidity combined. There is also a chance of a late day shower and/ or thunderstorm. The chance for unsettled weather follows into the weekend with sun and clouds both Saturday and Sunday. Both days will be a bit humid with highs in the 80s and a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
