Students recount hours in lockdown during Brown shooting incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — With a person of interest questioned and released and eight students still hospitalized, the Brown University community is awash in uncertainty following Saturday’s deadly campus shooting.

Final exams have been canceled out of “profound concern” for the student body and university, and all students are free to leave campus.

Support and resources are available for students remaining on campus, and a Christmas tree and menorah lighting ceremony doubled as a vigil Sunday night.

Students on hand at the memorial at Lippitt Memorial Park recounted the hours-long shelter in place endured waiting for the all clear.
