Summer swelter begins Tuesday
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — It’s time to turn up the heat! Heat advisories are in effect for our northern counties Wednesday through Friday.
Temperatures will shoot up to near 90 on Tuesday, but humidity will remain low enough to not warrant a fourth advisory day.
Heat indices will reach 95 or greater after that. Assuming temperatures also reach 90 or higher, it will be an official heatwave.
This steamy pattern will begin to break down on Friday, and late-day showers and storms will cool things off a bit heading into the weekend.
It will remain humid, but temperatures will be back down in the 80s. A daytime shower or storm is possible too, but no washouts for now.
