Summer to be warmer than normal

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Summer does not officially arrive until the solstice on June 20, but it may be warming up well before that, according to forecasters at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration .

Forecasters predict an unusually hot summer across most of the country, with temperatures expected to be warmer-than-average.

Not all forecasters agree, as scientists told USA today that people can expect a ‘milder-than-average’ summer, with hotspots in the northeast and southwest.
