Superheroes visit Hasbro Children’s Hospital
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — It was a long haul from the Big Apple and Gotham City as Spider-Man and Batman made an appearance at Hasbro Children’s Hospital on Friday.
“I have worked here for a long time so getting to see them here is exciting,” Clinical Manager Tracey Ginaitt said. “It’s exciting to see the kids’ faces as they see the superheroes come down.”
The two superheroes took to washing the windows of Hasbro Children’s and said hello to all of the young patients inside as they made their way down the side of the building.
“It’s a great experience for the kids in an otherwise medicalized experience,” Ginaitt added. “At such a tough time it brings them a lot of joy, said Spider-Man. We love doing it.”
The children didn’t only get to see their heroes flying down the side of the building, but they also got to take part in a meet-and-greet afterwards.
“It makes me really happy just to see them smile and for them to see the superheroes they see in the movies,” Batman said.
Fish Window Cleaning put on the special scene, and owner David Cotter said they started back in 2013.
“We’ve seen other children’s hospitals around the country doing it, so we kind of hopped on that and they were all for it, it’s great,” Cotter said.
