Suspect arrested in deadly Providence hit-and-run

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said that an arrest has been made in the case of a hit-and-run that resulted in the death on an 85-year-old woman Wednesday.

Public Information Officer Lindsay Lague said that Caitlin Kelly of Providence was charged with duty to stop – accident resulting in personal injury.

Lague said that on Wednesday around 6 a.m. officers responded to North Street and Pleasant Street for reports of a fatal pedestrian crash.

Kelly, 27, is being held for the next session of the 6th District Court.
