Suspect arrested in Warwick after two hour negotiation with police

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Police arrested a city man Tuesday afternoon on multiple domestic related charges, according to the Warwick Police Department.

Matthew Doan, 36, was wanted on domestic charges after an incident Monday night at 5 p.m. on Nausauket Road.

Believing Doan to be in possession of a firearm, police responded to the residence Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. to make contact with him.

Police negotiated with Doan for two hours, after which he surrendered to officers.
