Suspect charged in East Providence crosswalk vandalism

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Bob DaSilva said that a person has been identified and charged in connection with the vandalism of crosswalks painted like the American Flag in the city.

61-year-old Michael Dellefratte was charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property.

The crosswalks on Turner Avenue depicted the American Flag and appeared to have tire marks on them.

They were painted by the Department of Public Works ahead of the city’s Memorial Day Parade.
