Suspect charged with felony assault after stabbing in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a suspect was charged with felony assault after a stabbing on Broad Street Sunday.

The department said officers responded around 5:15 p.m. to find a male victim in his 40s who was conscious and alert.

The victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment, while a suspect was taken into custody on Broad Street and Myrtle Street.

The incident was under investigation.
