Suspect in 2021 Providence double homicide to appear in court

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The suspect in a 2021 Providence double murder will appear in court on Monday.

Kelvin Maldonado is charged with two counts of murder and a bevy of other counts in the incident that occurred in June of 2021 on Cheshire Street.

Maldonado allegedly murdered Abdoulaye Dialla, 24, and Abass Mbaye, 29, outside of a Cheshire Street home after a late night party on June 20, 2021.

Police said that there was a fight followed by the shooting, which resulted into the two victims being taken to Rhode Island Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
