Suspect in assault of 80-year-old seeking bail
COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — A man accused of leaving an 80-year-old woman for dead is seeking bail today.
53-year-old Steven Henning was been charged with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree robbery, assault on a person over 60 resulting in serious bodily injury, and burglary and larceny of a motor vehicle.
Henning was is accused of kidnapping an 80-year-old woman to steal her car, and strangling her.
His charges stem for multiple different counties including Providence, Woonsocket, Coventry, and Smithfield.
He was held without bail, however Henning is petitioning for bail today in front of a judge in Kent County Superior Court.
His hearing starts at 9:30 a.m.
