PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — One of two suspects in a Cranston home invasion and vehicle theft appeared in court Wednesday.

Logan Slezak, 18, faces several charges including carrying a dangerous weapon while committing a crime of violence, conspiracy, entering a home with felonious intent, and robbery-related charges.

Slezak opted to have a public defender represent him and was ordered held without bail.

Authorities say that Slezak and suspect Johnathan Costa, 19, entered the home on Crest Drive in the early morning hours of August 24 brandishing handguns and demanding the keys to the occupants’ Corvette and Ferrari.

The female victim led the suspects to the keys to both vehicles, but the suspects left with only the Ferrari as the Corvette was not parked at the residence.

After receiving the call, Cranston police then placed a BOLO on the Ferrari and received notice from Clinton, CT police at approximately 9 a.m. that the Ferrari had been parked outside of a home in Clinton.

Clinton police spoke with the Clinton homeowner who stated that the Ferrari was in the possession of Slezak and Costa, her nephew.

Cranston police were able to determine through surveillance video the driver of the vehicle that dropped off the suspects at the Crest Drive home.

The driver verified that he dropped off both Slezak and Costa at the Crest Drive address prior to the home invasion.

At this time arrest warrants were issue for both suspects.

Slezak surrendered to North Providence police and was taken into custody in Cranston, and Costa was taken into custody by Flagler County Sheriff deputies in Palm Coast, Florida.
