Suspect in custody after stabbing in Providence

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said a suspect was taken into custody after a stabbing that occurred in Providence Thursday.
It followed a reported assault in Cranston.
20-year-old Dileana Velez was charged with felony assault and domestic simple assault.
Police said the victim traveled to the hospital and later told officers that his girlfriend bit him at a residence in Cranston and and then stabbed him in Providence.
A suspect was then taken into custody by Providence police on Potters Avenue.
