Suspect in custody after stabbing in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said that a suspect is in custody after a stabbing on Washington Street on Tuesday.

According to Lindsay Lague, a spokesperson for Providence police, one person was stabbed near 344 Washington St. and sustained non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after. Their identity was not immediately released.

Detectives remained on scene investigating.
