Suspect in Flanagan stabbing ordered to undergo mental health evaluation
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — The man accused of stabbing former Fall River mayor Will Flanagan will undergo a mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.
According to our ABC affiliate WCVB, a judge issued the order Wednesday that 31-year-old Corree Gonzales be sent to the hospital in the wake of his alleged attack on Flanagan.
Flanagan was stabbed Monday night on Hartwell Street in Fall River near the former mayor’s cannabis dispensary.
Gonzales is also accused of assaulting police officers during his arrest, adding to the charges he now faces.
Flanagan remains hospitalized at this time.
