Suspect in North Providence rollover identified, charged with DUI

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A man involved in a rollover crash in North Providence last night was charged with driving under the influence.

23-year-old Jonathan Avalos-Vasquez was arrested after flipping his car at the intersection of Mineral Spring Avenue and Charles Street on Sunday.

Officials allege Avalos-Vasquez was speeding westbound on Mineral Spring Ave when he attempted to take a left turn onto Charles Street.

Police said, as he took the turn, Avalos-Vasquez drove over the hood of a car stopped at the light on Charles Street, rolling his car over.

Avalos-Vasquez is facing charges of DUI greater than 1.5 and reckless driving, per officials.

Authorities said no one was injured in the incident.
