Suspects in Garden City Center shots fired incident face a judge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Two suspects in a Wednesday morning Cranston shots fired incident appeared in court Thursday to face charges.

Andres Pizarro, 21, and Andre Ross, 31, both face numerous charges related to the Garden City Center incident which allegedly targeted victim Shane Sims.

The suspects also face a slate of charges from Rhode Island State Police (RISP) in a separate incident.

Pazarro faces several felony charges from Cranston police including attempted murder and carrying an illegal firearm.

He is also charged by the RISP with carrying an illegal firearm, resisting arrest and obstruction of a police officer.

His bail was set at $100,000 in the Cranston incident and $20,000 on the RISP charges and no plea was entered.

Ross also faces attempted murder charges among others in the Garden City Center shots fired incident.

RISP charged Ross with stealing a car and high speed chase.

His bail was set at $20,000 in the RISP case and no plea was entered.

The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. when police say one of the suspects fired several shots at another man, identified as Sims.

Sims ran into the center’s Verizon store and wasn’t injured.

Witness statements described the suspects’ vehicle, which police discovered had been stolen from Swansea.

Police located the vehicle on Route 6 and pursued it into Providence’s Smith Hill neighborhood and then the Providence Place Mall garage.

The suspects then allegedly fled on foot but were located and arrested by Providence police and RISP.

The next court date in the cases has been scheduled for October.
