An inspiring gesture this Fourth of July holiday. On Sunday Mike Montanaro placed American flags at the site of dozens of veterans' graves that were recently vandalized at a West Warwick cemetery by his own cousin.

The patriotic tribute can’t make up for what happened, but it is providing comfort to countless people upset by the defaced grave sites of World War I, World War II, and Vietnam Veterans.

Police say 29 bronze markers, worth nearly $23,000 were swiped from the cemetery.

Two men have been arrested.
