SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE)- A Swansea man is set to face up to five years in prison after robbing multiple stores in Fall River and Somerset last April, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn announced on Thursday.

Jeffery Vizthum, 43, plead guilty to two counts of armed robbery, one count of armed and masked robbery, and one county of leaving the scene of property damage last week in court.

Vizthum robbed three different stores in a two day period.

On April 14, 2020 he robbed a Seasons Corner Market in Fall River. Police say that the cashier was “visibly shaken” when they arrived on scene. She told police that she had been robbed at knifepoint by a 5’10” man wearing a blue and red mask with an army green sweatshirt.

Vizthum robbed a Cumberland Farms just two days later. Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at about 12:48 a.m. on April 16. The cashier at the Cumberland Farms gave police the same description of the Vizthum’s build.

Later in the day, Police responded to another report of a robbery, this time it was a Shop and Save in Fall River. Police say that they believed the robber to be the same man as the one who robbed the other two stores.

While looking at the surveillance footage from the crime scenes, officers were able to see the suspect driving the same white Chevrolet pickup truck.

While searching Facebook, they discovered that Vizthum had posted numerous pictures with his truck, as well as some where he was wearing the clothes described by victims.

Vizthum got into a car crash that evening. Police searched his car with a warrant on the next day. They found a green hooded sweatshirt, carpenter/khaki pants, black boots, two Venom energy drink cans, a Monster energy drink can cut in half, a utility knife, two folding knives and empty packs of Marlboro Red cigarettes.

“The defendant went on a spree of armed robberies and terrorized store clerks who were just trying to make a living. He is a danger to the community and belongs off the street,” District Attorney Quinn said.
