Talks continue on using old Memorial Hospital as homeless shelter
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket Mayor Donald Greiben is discussing the announcement that the old Memorial Hospital could reopen as a homeless shelter.
The mayor said that the issue is between the state and the property owners, but he’s planning to speak to the housing secretary about the logistics.
Open Doors is set to move its temporary shelter at the Motel 6 in Warwick to the old Memorial Hospital site if all goes according to plan.
120 people are currently sheltered at the motel in Warwick.
