Taste of Winter

Arctic air is pouring into Southern New England this week. High pressure will provide clear skies and plenty of sunshine through the first half of Wednesday . Temperatures will be running 10 degrees colder than average as well. Mid week will see an Alberta Clipper storm system move through the area. These systems move fast and typically do not have a lot of moisture, so snow totals aren’t huge when one comes through. This time, it will mix with warmer air and be mostly cold rain. No accumulations are expected, just brief mixing Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The only exception would be the highest elevations where minor accumulations are possible. Following the clipper on Thursday, look for clearing and even colder air moving in to finish out the week and take us into the weekend. There is another chance of snow next Saturday night into Sunday. Stay tuned…
