Tatum suffers concerning injury in Celtics’ loss, Cs down 3-1 to Knicks

NEW YORK, N.Y. (WLNE) —  While the Boston Celtics have fallen to a 3-1 deficit against the New York Knicks, Cs star Jayson Tatum left the game Monday night with what appears to be a serious injury.

Late in a close game, Tatum fell to the floor chasing a loose ball and didn’t get back up.

The star would have to leave Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.

At the time of the injury, he was leading the team with 42 points.

Coach Joe Mazzulla addressed the injury in the post-game press conference, stressing we won’t know what’s going on until we get results back.

The MRI results are due later Tuesday.

The unfortunate news for Celtics fans hoping for a three-game comeback is that 96 percent of the time, the team up 3-1 wins the series.

There have been 13 instances where a team has rallied and won the series after being down 3- 1.

Most recently the 2020 Denver Nuggets made this comeback in the second round.
