TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A Taunton man pleaded guilty Tuesday to possessing a gun as a felon.

The United States Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts said 34-year-old Jermaine Rodrigues was found in possession of two AM-15 pistols in June 2022.

One of the guns was equipped with a laser sight and optics, according to authorities, who added that Rodrigues also possessed almost 100 rounds of ammunition.

Officials said Rodrigues is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 15.

The attorney’s office said the charge of being a felon in possession can lead to a sentence of up to 15 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
