Taunton man convicted of raping child family member gets 10 to 12 years in prison

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn said Thursday that a Taunton man convicted of raping a child family member has been sentenced to serve 10 to 12 years in prison.
Antonio Nascimento-Depina, 61, was found guilty of two counts of aggravated rape of a child and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person under the age of 14.
On July 28-29, 2018, DePina was home alone with the young girl and her 7-year-old brother, said Quinn.
According to the district attorney’s office, the girl was called into DePina’s room, where he beat and raped her.
A few days later, the girl told the Department of Children, Youth and Families about the assault during a home visit.
In court, the girl’s mother told the judge, “This is justice.”
