Taunton man sentenced for knife assault
TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III said that a 25-year-old Taunton man was convicted and sentenced for a 2024 knife assault.
Cye Key was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Key was accused of slicing the hand of Issiah Cruz on July 2, 2024 the day after an altercation between the two.
The attack led to a fight between the defendant, the victim, and the victim’s brother.
When he was found by police, Key had a knife sheath in his belt, and police said they found a matching blade in the victim’s apartment, where the attack took place.
Key was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half to eight years in state prison.
