The Taunton Public School system was one of several school systems in Massachusetts that are investigating threats that were called in over the last several days.
Superintendent Dr. Julie Hackett says Taunton received an automated threatening phone message just after 11 p.m. Monday night. She says this voicemail is similar to others surrounding communities have received.
Police were called and it was determined that the comments made in the voicemail were general in nature and did not warrant an evacuation.
Police will continue to provide an increased police presence at all thirteen schools in the district.
Several other schools in Massachusetts received similar threats Tuesday.
