Taunton Police investigating shooting of 16-year-old

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Taunton Police Department said it was investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old male that occurred early Saturday morning.

Police said they responded to Church Street around 5:45 a.m. for reports of gunshots.

Officers found the found several shell casings on the scene and also learned that the victim was transported to the hospital.

Police said the injury was serious but non-life-threatening.
