Taunton police investigating Sunday night shooting

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday night in Taunton, according to the Taunton Police Department.

The shooting occurred at approximately 10:56 p.m. on East Britannia Street where officers arrived to find no victim present.

At this time the 27-year-old victim had arrived at Morton Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

The injuries sustained by the victim are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The shooting is under active investigation by Taunton PD detectives and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
