Taunton repeat offender sentenced for cocaine, fentanyl trafficking
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Taunton man was sentenced to state prison for trafficking cocaine and fentanyl on Tuesday, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
According to court documents, 38-year-old Gleden Rodriguez was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half to five years in prison after pleading guilty to indictments charging him with cocaine and fentanyl trafficking, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and unlawful possession of ammunition.
On May 4, 2022, Taunton police executed a search warrant at Rodriguez’s home on Liberty Street. In the home, officials found a container of illegally processed ammunition, 100 grams of cocaine, 84 grams of fentanyl and paraphernalia used in the sale of narcotics including a digital scale and a Magic Bullet full of powder.
Just before serving the warrant, police said they observed multiple visitors who were known drug users and suspected customer going to Rodriguez’s home.
Rodriguez had previously served a five to seven year sentence after being convicted of a firearm and armed robbery offense back in 2007. He also had a prior drug distribution conviction.
