Suspect in Taunton shooting held without bail

TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) _ The suspect in a fatal shooting in Taunton last week faced a judge Monday.

Miguel Marrero was held without bail at his arraignment on murder and a weapons charges.

Prosecutors say the 20-year-old Marrero shot and killed Gordon Weekes last Thursday outside a city apartment building.

The 23-year-old Weekes was taken to the hospital by a friend where he was pronounced dead.

Marrero fled the scene and was tracked down on Friday in Boston.

It’s not clear of he has an attorney. Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the shooting.
