Teamsters rally to support UPS shop steward who was allegedly assaulted

FRANKLIN, Mass. (WLNE) — Teamsters Local 25 rallied in Franklin on May 16 in support of a UPS shop steward who was allegedly assaulted on the job.
A spokesperson for the union said that Carlos Pina, of New Bedford, needed medical attention after being assaulted by a supervisor in April,
The union further said that the company has “harassed” Pina since the incident.
“Our members will not tolerate this company’s bullying, especially when it uses discrimination to impede the work of our dedicated shop stewards,” Local 25 President Tom Mari said. “We are determined to stand-up to this harassment and will be persistent in pursuing this case and will never stop fighting for our members.”
A spokesperson with UPS released the following statement is response to the rally:
