Teen breaks arm after boat flips in North Smithfield

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said that a teenager broke their arm after their boat flipped in the Slatersville Reservoir.

RIDEM said that two teenagers where in the boat, and one of them admitted to being on their phone when they hit the shoreline and the vessel flipped.

The teenager with a broken arm was transported to Landmark Hospital.

The North Smithfield and Burrillville Police Departments helped RIDEM with the response.
