Teen gets 2 life sentences for 2013 murder

A teen was sentenced in Superior Court today for his role in a 2013 murder.
On January 30, 2015, 18-year-old Jose Lopez was found guilty of murder. Today he was sentenced to two consecutive live terms after pleading guilty to murder and weapons charges.
Lopez, along with two other men, 21-year-old Daquan Watts and 19-year-old Jason Gonzalez, gunned down Ryan Almeida outside his mother’s Pawtucket apartment on Christmas Eve.
In October, Gonzalez pled guilty to carrying a firearm without a license and conspiracy. In November, Watts pled guilty to murder, discharge of a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence, conspiracy to commit murder, and carrying a pistol without a license. Both are awaiting sentencing.
